| WHAT IS DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS? |
At the local level… Dollars for Scholars is a group of citizens working with the South Western School District and the community to develop a base of financial support for resident graduates of South Western High School who are striving to continue their education in academic or vocational areas. |
At the York County level… We are affiliated with the York Foundation, a permanent endowment for the enhancement of the quality of life for York County residents. This affiliation provides for skilled management of over 200 charitable funds under the direction of a board of community leaders and a staff of professionals experienced in philanthropy and financial administration. South Western Dollars for Scholars is one of these funds. |
At the national level… We are an authorized program for Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of America, Inc. (CSFA) which provides continuing support services to community-based scholarship foundations throughout the nation. Programs operated under this affiliation have tax except 501 (c) (3) status. Therefore, any gifts to South Western Dollars for Scholars are deductible from federal taxes. |
